Spectee Officially Launches “Spectee Pro” -AI Real Time Crisis Management Service- in the Philippines

Joint initiative by Spectee, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and the Philippines’ Department of Information and Communications Technology to advance digital transformation in disaster management

MANILA, Aug 14 – Spectee Inc., a disaster and crisis management technology startup based in Tokyo, announced the official launch of the Philippine version of its AI-powered real-time crisis management service, Spectee Pro.

The grand launch ceremony of this new service was held at Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City, attended by distinguished guests including Luis Miguel Planas, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT); Takashi Baba, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines; and Naobumi Yokota, Minister for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.
Over 100 participants, comprising government officials, local government representatives, media personnel, private stakeholders and tech experts, gathered to mark a new milestone in strengthening disaster resilience in the Philippines.

In his opening speech, Spectee Founder and CEO Kenjiro Murakami reflected on the company’s journey since its founding in 2011 following the Great East Japan Earthquake. He highlighted the evolution and global expansion of Spectee Pro, emphasizing the significance of this launch in bringing Japan’s cutting-edge disaster management technology to the Philippines.

Currently, more than 120 government agencies and municipal authorities in the Philippines are already trialing Spectee Pro.
At the ceremony, case studies were presented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Public Works and Highways(DPWH), Quezon City, Caloocan City, Pasig City, and Lapu-Lapu City, showcasing the system’s effectiveness in rapid information gathering and decision-making during crises.

A key highlight of the event was a discussion on JICA’s new private sector partnership program. Unlike traditional government-led Official Development Assistance(ODA) projects, this model leverages the expertise of Japanese private companies to address social challenges in developing countries while supporting sustainable overseas business expansion.
